A song about the temporary zeitgeist of the Wizard Rock Community. I'm still surprised some bands are still around. But it will only be a matter of time before it collapses and we find a new franchise to obsess over.

Wizard rock is a dried-up river
How do these bands even look at themselves in the mirror
Singers and songwriters, desperate for material
I guess it’s very easy to write wizard song on that’s trivial

They say it’s not easy
I say it’s lemon squeezy
Cause this gimmick can only last
As long as we got books stuck in the past

Cause you’re more than a gimmick
You’re a parody in disguise
You’re just another mimic
Of a character from a franchise, you can’t criticize
Write a bunch of filler lines
Follow basic guidelines
Then wait for the die-hard fans to make you shine
Until the day this genre dies

When wizard school is done, which job can you get with that coloured tie?
Is there a masters degree for making feathers fly?

They say this genre’s easy

Trying hard to compromise

Of a character that millions of other idolize

And keep writing music under re-skinned old gimmicks!
